"While writing The Book of Wind back in in 2013, I felt it essential to tell the story of how one of my all time favorite comic book artists influenced me not only in my own artwork, but in choosing the stage name I've used to this very day."

"As this page details, my friend, Brandon, GAVE me his collected edition of Battle Chasers (which is a collection of the released issues NOT a "one shot" like Toriyama's Sandland, for instance) back when we were in middle school. Before I moved to Georgia for high school (which was a pivotal moment for Wind Clan and our music career), Brandon and I had plans of creating our own comic book company. When I got ready to choose a pseudonym for my art, I took a cue from Joe and shortened my last name from "Windhom" to "Wind"--the same "Wind" that appears in Wind Clan, Wind Temple, and Wind Fam Records. I couldn't use my professional art name when I started taking an interest in graffiti (mostly due to the release of Jet Grind Radio), so I also became known as "Cykotik".
When I decided to move into music after meeting our cousin, former Def Jam prez, Kevin Liles, I wanted to use "Chris Wind", but discovered that there was a composer by the name of Chris Wind. I therefore combined my pro alias and graffiti alias to form "C. Wind aka Cykotik".
I still get the opportunity to flex my artist muscles on album art like this cover I did for a remix featuring myself and Beebs and Her Money Makers."
